In heavy transport, momentum is everything. Keeping machines on the move is how freight gets delivered, projects stay on track, and businesses remain productive. But during long weekends like Easter, curfews across many parts of Australia force operators to shut down all movements for several days at a time.
These curfews are designed to reduce congestion and improve safety on public roads during holiday periods. For transport companies, they also bring unique challenges. Loads get delayed. Schedules shift. Assets sit still. But for Ace Haulage, these forced breaks are not wasted time. They are a window to reset.
While trucks were parked and highways quiet, the team focused inward. The workshop ran full days across the break, with scheduled maintenance, safety inspections and gear checks on every unit in the fleet. It was a chance to look under the hood, both literally and operationally. What needs improving. What needs reinforcing. What can be done better.
But it was also about people. In a new video captured over the weekend, Ace introduced some of the crew that rarely get seen. Mechanics, schedulers, support staff and operators all played a role in preparing the business for the next run. No glamour, no noise, just the real work that keeps everything rolling when the lights come back on.
In an industry that often only gets noticed when something goes wrong, it is worth recognising what goes right behind the scenes.
